About Me

I'm Anastasija, and I know what it's like to create when your body doesn't cooperate.
For 15+ years, I've worked as a translator, editor, subtitler, and publishing professional across every genre imaginable. I've touched over 200 book projects, managed publishing teams, and built a career I loved.
And then in 2016, everything changed.

The Story That Led Me Here

My lupus diagnosis hit right in the middle of managing major publishing projects. I was coordinating teams, overseeing book productions, being the bridge between employees and company management. I was thriving - until suddenly, I wasn't.

But I didn't stop. I didn't step back.
For six years, I pushed through. I worked myself to the max while going back and forth to medical appointments, tests, specialists. Fatigue that felt like drowning. Brain fog that made sentences swim on the screen. The prednisone side effects. The guilt of needing flexibility. The fear that asking for help made me weak.
I kept going until 2022, when my body finally said: Enough.

That's when I quit my job. That's when I survived burnout. That's when I finally - finally - learned to listen to my body and make real changes.

What Changed Everything

Once I got a handle on my lupus and learned what recovery actually means (not the Instagram version, but the slow, unsexy, deeply transformative kind), I started writing.

I published "Say Hello to My Friend Lupus" - my first book about living with chronic illness. Then I created resources for other chronic illness warriors - coloring books, journals, symptom trackers. I built a bilingual online community (LupusMKD) sharing resources in English and Macedonian, because there wasn't much information available in my mother tongue.
This year, I published "Breaking Free" - about building a career that works with chronic illness, not against it.
I became a Cambridge Scholars published author.
And somewhere in that process of healing, creating, and publishing my own work, I realized something:
This is what I'm meant to do.
Not just any editing. Not just any writing. But specifically helping people in the wellness and chronic illness space turn their lived experience and expertise into books that matter.
Why I Do This Work Now

I've worked on over 200 book projects in my career - from literary novels to academic publications to wellness memoirs. I've also translated thousands of documents across medical, legal, and technical fields. I know the craft inside and out.
But what makes my work different now is this: I know what it takes to create when your body is fighting you.
I know the cost of ignoring what your body needs for too long.
I know what real recovery looks like.
I know what it's like to finally listen, finally rest, and finally create something meaningful from a place of healing instead of depletion.
And I know - deeply - that your story doesn't have to be perfect to be powerful.
